8686 Fluoride and Faulty Reasoning
نویسندگان
چکیده
The letters to the Editor of the International Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health by Phyllis Mullenix and Donald Taves on setting appropriate safety standards for industrial levels of fluorides and fluorine are considered as if they were a debate. The participants’ views on gaseous fluorides, hydrofluoric acid and particulate fluoride are summarized. It is concluded that in the end the “real winners” will be the public and industrial workers who will benefit from standards established by science rather than politics and the fear of litigation.

Educational strategies for improving clinical reasoning.
Clinical reasoning serves as a crucial skill for all physicians regardless of their area of expertise. Helping trainees develop effective and appropriate clinical reasoning abilities is a central aim of medical education. Teaching clinical reasoning however can be a very difficult challenge for practicing physicians. Better understanding of the different cognitive processes involved in physicia...
متن کاملIntegrated Reasoning Approach for Car Faulty Diagnosis
This paper presents an integrated case based and rule based reasoning method for car faulty diagnosis. The reasoning method is done through extracting the past cases from the Proton Service Center while comparing with the preset rules to deduce a diagnosis/solution to a car service case. New cases will be stored to the knowledge base. The test cases examples illustrate the effectiveness of the ...
متن کاملHierarchical physical defect reasoning in digital circuits
We propose a hierarchical physical defect-oriented approach for fault diagnosis in combinational digital circuits. We present the circuit as a network of modules. As modules we consider either library components (e.g. complex gates) of digital circuits or arbitrary subcircuits. The higher level fault diagnosis is carried out in two phases. In the first phase, faulty modules are located by cause...
متن کاملDiagnostic Reasoning in Digital Systems by Kurt Henry Thearling
Described in this thesis is an efficient method for fault diagnosis in digital systems based on the technique of reasoning. The methodology operates on the observed erroneous behavior and the structure of the system. The behavior consists of the error(s) observed on the circuit’s output lines and specific values on the circuit’s input lines. The techniques described in this thesis improve upon ...
